Overlooking the Blue River valley ten miles north of the ski town of Silverthorne is the distinctive home studio of artist Dale Montagne. Featuring sweeping views of the valley this home is filled with Montagne’s sculpture and artistry.
Dale has made the middle floor of his home available for rent to Summit County visitors, offering an interior solarium, exterior decks, a large living area with an open connection to a large kitchen, two bedrooms, one of which has a landing opening to the solarium and a large bathroom. With its close proximity to four ski areas and Green Mountain Reservoir, this home makes the perfect getaway for skiers, boaters, hunters, hikers and mountaineers.
Dale designed and built the studio home after he searched years for the right location. The indoor garden was designed for the solar exposure. Many of the view corridors flow toward the garden even to the point of using steel mesh landings to expose the space below. The second floor faces an exterior deck and an interior landing from the living room and a bedroom. The entire third floor has a 17 ft vaulted ceiling. The house portrays a warm environmental whole.
